City Hall Centennial
The City marked the 100th anniversary of the Municipal Building with a Centennial Celebration & Open House on March 1, 2026, 100 years to the day that the building officially opened.
A special program in the Common Council Chamber reviewed the history of City Hall and its place in White Plains history, spotlighted the many memorials in City Hall to White Plains residents who served the nation in our wars, and highlighted a few of the 101 people who have served on the White Plains Common Council.
In addition, all visitors were invited to tour “the People’s House” and meet many of the Commissioners of the City Departments housed in the building who continue to provide services and assistance to White Plains residents every day.
In conjunction with the opening celebration a number of new documents, reference materials and videos were created. These can be accessed here.
