Project Overview (Project Fact Sheet)
The City of White Plains is conducting a feasibility study and implementation plan for a brand new Inter/Multi-Generational Community Center! The Center is proposed to be a centralized, year-round indoor facility that will serve residents of all ages. This facility will provide flexible, accessible space for recreation, education, and community programming.
Currently, public programming is spread across limited spaces such as the Recreation and Parks Department buildings at 85 Gedney Way, the Community Center at 65 Mitchell Place, and the Eastview Middle School Campus. However, these locations face significant capacity constraints and are not designed to accommodate the full range of intergenerational needs.
The proposed Community Center will serve as a welcoming, central hub that promotes connection, wellness, and lifelong engagement for children, teens, adults, and seniors alike.

Your voice matters. As part of the planning process, the City is leading a community engagement survey to gather input from residents, organizations, and key stakeholders.
Survey Dates: open from July 1 through September 15, 2025
The results of this survey will help shape decisions around site location, programming needs, accessibility features, design preferences, and more. Community feedback will be incorporated into a final report released in Fall 2025.
