This letter is a reminder that the use of internal combustion leaf blowers within the City of White Plains is prohibited. Under our legislation the operator of the device, the employer of the operator and the person who owns or rents the property at the location where the device is used may all be held responsible for a violation of the law. The noise generated by this equipment is disturbing to residents and there are alternatives. The use of electric blowers is permitted and they are effective and readily available. If you are using a landscaper to work on your property, please confirm with them that they are aware of and will comply with the City of White Plains laws.
